Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness-This book has all the things I love in a book- historical references, magic, action, interesting characters, with a little bit of romance mixed in. I enjoyed the second book in the series as well, although it wasn't quite as action packed as the first.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green-Um, hello John Green. Where have you been all my life? I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's not something that I would have normally picked up. But it was recommended so highly by so many others that I thought I'd give it a shot- thinking that it probably wouldn't live up to the hype. For me, it did. I really enjoyed it.
Night Sky by Clare Francis-Published in 1984 and rather long at 816 pages, I wasn't sure whether it'd be my cup of tea. The synopsis sounded appealing to me, so I went for it. Because of the length I opted for an audio version of the book. I loved it! I enjoy stories that have a lot of characters who are interwoven in complex ways and this book fit that bill. The end was quite satisfying after the ride the book took me on as well.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore-I love the premise for the story. Very creative and I haven't read anything like it (not that it's the only one of it's kind, but it was new to me.) I love characters that I can root for and I love books that leave me wanting more. Graceling did not disappoint. Since Fire and Bitterblue are already out (and sitting on my shelf) I can keep reading!
